Stump the Mechanic! Can You Show Me What's Wrong With Your Car?

One of my favorite parts of running Simple Car Answers is helping people solve their car problems. Every day, viewers from my YouTube channel leave questions about strange noises, warning lights, vibrations, leaks, and other frustrating issues they're trying to figure out.

Some problems are easy to diagnose from a good description. Others... not so much.

The truth is, it's a lot easier to diagnose a problem when I can actually see it, hear it, or watch it happen. That's where you can help.

If you're dealing with a vehicle problem, I'd love for you to send me as much information as possible. Clear pictures, short videos, and a detailed description can make all the difference. Not only will it help me give you a more accurate diagnosis, but it may also help thousands of other car owners experiencing the exact same problem.

How to Send Me Videos

At the moment, my website doesn't allow direct video uploads (I'm working on that!).

Instead, upload your video to a service like YouTube, Google Drive, Instagram, TikTok, or another sharing site, then include the link with your comment below.

Pictures can be attached using the comment form.

The More Details You Share, the Better I Can Help

When you submit your question, please include:

• Year, make, model, and engine size
• Current mileage
• Any warning lights that are on
• Any diagnostic trouble codes (if you've scanned the vehicle)
• Recent repairs or maintenance
• Clear pictures of the problem
• A short video if the problem can be seen or heard

It also helps to answer these questions:

• When does the problem happen?
• Does it happen when the engine is cold, warm, or both?
• Is the vehicle parked or moving?
• What speed are you driving when it happens?
• Are you accelerating, braking, turning, or coasting?
• Is the engine idling, under load, or shut off?
• Does it happen every time or only once in a while?
• Have you noticed anything that makes it better or worse?

The more information you provide, the better chance I have of pointing you in the right direction without having the vehicle in my shop.
